Solution Architect

The Solution Architect supports the sales teams in developing the offer to clients. The Solution Architect acts as pre-sales and technical leader for solutions up to and including hand over to the Professional Services team.

Purpose of role:
The Solution Architect acts as pre-sales and technical leader for solutions up to and including hand over to the Professional Services team. This role involves a high level of Customer interaction and co-ordination with internal Product, Technical and Marketing Teams.

This role requires an experienced, personable solution architect that can operate at all levels within customer engagement, and has a proven track record of helping to win new and develop existing clients both direct and through partners.
Key responsibilities
  • Define business and technical requirements
  • Run workshops to identify issues
  • Work with sales to clarify customer needs from a technical perspective
  • Run software demonstrations to business and technical audiences
  • Assist sales managers to qualify in or out high value opportunities
  • Support post sales delivery teams to achieve customer success
  • The technical overview and accuracy of the solution is owned by this role.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Client engagement technologies and solutions, and demonstrate a deep understanding of these with particular bias towards business applications and contact centre technologies
  • Low-code and RPA applications and processes
  • How to prioritise work and deliver to tight timescales, demonstrating good organisational and administrative skills
  • How to coach and develop others
  • How to communicate (oral and written) to a high standard and deliver content to support large complex on premise and Cloud solutions. This includes accurate and high-quality tender content including Functional specification and Information Security and Governance
  • Project engineering and solution delivery
  • How to use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint to an advanced level
  • Understand customer issues and translate them into solution requirements
  • Document High Level Designs of business processes and user journeys in collaboration with customer subject matter experts
  • Recognise the key drivers to develop and deliver tailored customer demonstrations
  • Present opportunity value and benefits to the internal sales team and clients up to C-level
  • Oversee the handover from sales to delivery teams, and support project delivery in a mentoring capacity
  • Manage multiple customer engagements
  • Work in a dynamic and agile team environment geared towards collective support and success
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal/no supervision
Desirable knowledge
  • Database structures and entity relationship modelling
  • Enterprise Cloud Architecture including AWS
  • Integration of systems using web service APIs such as SOAP and REST
  • Delivering solutions within contact centres
  • Developing applications using low-code and RPA platforms
  • Python or other coding language
